My running and fitness journey started in my early 20’s when I decided to run my first ever marathon, and having trained as a dancer since the age of 5, I found out quickly that without training properly for the race, I was broken and in serious pain. At that point, I chose to lean more into yoga, a range of motion and mindfulness based sport. I went deep into yoga for years, choosing to certify as a teacher at an ashram in India, while earning my certifications in Pregnancy, mother & baby yoga, and Thai massage. I found my passion in healing techniques for athletics and it served me well during my child bearing years.
During my transition to motherhood and having 3 children over the course of 4 years, I returned back to running, realizing it was an easily accessible hobby and following in the footsteps of my husband James, an avid runner. I fell in love with running again, running mostly half marathons and finding it as an outlet to motherhood that helped me cope during difficult times.
Then, after watching my husband suffer a painful 3 year long running injury breaking a bone in his foot due to repetitive stress, and countless friends falling in and out of the running circuit via injury, I knew that I didn’t want to stand by and watch that happen to anyone else! I realized that being injured not only stops you from exercising but impacts your mental health and confidence as well. That is when I embarked on my mission, realizing my past had a lot of the answers. My certifications and experiences in life as well as my obsession with healthy lifestyle habits, drove me to help the run community and my purpose. Over the last 4 years, I’ve helped runners train to include recovery as part of their training program and most enjoyed helping recover groups of runners over consecutive years at the London Marathon in 2022 and 2023 for a National British charity called Sue Ryder.
Also being a Certified RRCA Run Coach, recently I’ve decided to deepen my knowledge in Strength and injury prevention for sports and am undertaking my certification as a Corrective Exercise Specialist. - NASM CES (expected completion December 2024). I believe that runners who take time for themselves and their athletic recovery will not only perform better, but also continue with a long running career by warding off injury. It is my goal to make sure they can achieve this by providing easily accessible coaching and short actionable frameworks that leave them feeling fully recovered and stay injury free, during their training schedules, race ambitions, and life in general for their families but mostly for themselves.
