“If you listen to your body when it whispers, you won’t have to listen when it screams”
How many times have you ever heard the saying “you just have to listen to your body?” I mean, like what am I trying to listen to? Is it the air coming from my undercarriage after deciding I need to increase the fiber in my diet or maybe the sound that so many of my friends encouraged me to make after drinking a Dr. Pepper in 7th grade. Whatever “it” is, it’s really NOT either of those!
For a newer runner the saying listen to your body may be hard to understand or experience because after all your newer to this gig and aren’t sure what people are talking about. The idea however is to pay attention to the signs your body may be giving you. When you begin to run or even as an advanced runner you can protect yourself from injury and overstraining or even under training by paying attention to an assortment of different “signs” your body may be giving you.
